Jon Trujillo has served on the Geothermal Resource Council’s board of directors for the past four years and will be Geothermal Rising’s president in 2021. He co-initiated the Southern California GRC section, which is a local coalition of over 110 individuals representing private industry, local and state government and regulatory agencies. Jon started nearly 13 years ago and continues his geothermal career with CalEnergy, part of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, and is currently the geothermal resource manager for the Salton Sea facilities with 350 megawatts. He oversees drilling operations, resource management and the facilities’ non-hazardous landfill. His prior professional experience also includes mineral exploration in Latin America and geologic modeling. He has a bachelor’s degree and graduate work in Geology & Geophysics from the University of Missouri – Rolla and Virginia Tech, respectively. Jon has also taken graduate courses in finance, accounting and organizational behavior.
