I am Vice President of research and development at AltaRock Energy and also Technical Program Director for the non-profit Hotrock Energy Research Organization (HERO). In both roles I am in charge of company operations, technology research and development, and project development. I have 25 years of experience in industrial and academic R&D, technical consulting, and project development in the energy, earth science, and clean technology industries. I have additional management experience as an environmental scientist with expertise in multidisciplinary projects. My education and technical training are in geology, geophysics, and geochemistry. My professional work experience has been in renewable energy development and technologies, energy management and efficiency, drilling technologies, materials science, and carbon capture and sequestration. My research and industrial experience has included project design, fluid chemistry sampling and analysis, field lab design, field personnel training, monitoring, and modeling. I am currently responsible for developing and managing geothermal energy technology and power development projects in North American and Europe. We have a focus on licensing new technologies to expand energy production in unconventional resource areas. I have a Ph.D. in Geology and Geophysics from The University of Hawai`i and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geology from Stanford University.
