Navy Geothermal Program Office


Kelly Blake is the Division Director for the Navy Geothermal Program Office (GPO) as of August 2019. In that role, she is responsible for managing the budget and personnel, overseeing geologic and geophysical data collection, analysis, management and reservoir monitoring for the Coso Geothermal Field, as well as exploration at several geothermal prospects in Nevada and southern California. She served as a geologist for the Navy GPO for eight years prior to taking on the Division Director role.


She currently volunteers on the GRC Board of Directors, as the Global Executive for Women in Geothermal (WING) and as a soccer coach in the rest of her spare time. 


Blake has a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Geoscience from Slippery Rock University (in the town of the same name, Pennsylvania), and a Master’s Degree is in Geology from Temple University in Philadelphia.
