Kurt Kraal is a geology PhD student at the University of Nevada, Reno working with the Great Basin Center for Geothermal Energy and Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology. Kurt’s dissertation research is focused on characterizing known geothermal systems in the Great Basin region of the western USA. Field areas investigated include the Fallon FORGE EGS site, and the Tungsten Mountain geothermal field, operated by Ormat Nevada, Inc. Kurt received a Bachelors of Science degree in Geology with high honors from the University of California, Davis in 2016.
