Irene Wallis

Irene Wallis is an independent consultant specializing in structural geology and geomechanics for high-temperature geothermal reservoirs, conceptual model development and well targeting, and the geoscience components of drilling and testing programs. She has been involved in the exploration, development and operation of geothermal resources in New Zealand, Chile, and Indonesia. She has developed data analysis tools using Python for both commercial clients and research and maintains an open-source Python library for structural geology and borehole image analysis (https://github.com/ICWallis/fractoolbox). Ms. Wallis is undertaking part-time doctoral research that focuses on the geologic controls on hydrothermal fluid flux from sub-meter to kilometer scale. She has previously led and/or coached Geothermal Resource Decision Workshops at conferences and for commercial clients in Indonesia, New Zealand, and the US, and has been a lecturer for graduate-level geothermal and epithermal courses at the University of Auckland.
